At a blog site being Cat Box Zen, you know we will talk about boxes, but not every cat likes a box or wants to be part of the cat box club. Even if it is Cat Box Sunday! (Miss Mattie is being a rebel)
Miss Mattie-the Paw Popping Pattie loves her boxes, but she also has a special place in her heart for her bags.
In this two part series she will share her funny Cat “in a bag” Zen wisdom. I said wisdom, she is still learning Zen.
Not in a bag, but close!
Miss Mattie says….
I think a box is a firm structure. It has a good foundation for holding on to Zen. It is great for cat hiding, especially if there are other things in the box that a cat can burrow under. I have also learned that a bag has a lot more room for interpretation and space for cat wisdom…and Zen.
I have learned some Zen lessons as I ponder my existence in a bag. (I have too, I am in Zen training with Mr. Bailey)
Boxes are bulky and they can get in the way. I watched my human maneuver around 3 boxes in the kitchen one day. I know she was saying something under her breath that my cat ears should not hear.
The other day, I was delighted when my human came back from shopping with a bunch of bags!
- A bag can teach you about flexibility and about molding your mindset to what is.
- Although you may get a handle, there is no lid on a bag, so you have an open view to life.
- It’s easier to turn around and capture things placed in the bag. There’re no hard corners of false truths to block your cat determination.
- You have more space to easily cuddle with another cat friend in a bag. Cuddling is important in life.
- Destroying a bag is easier then a box and more fun. We must destroy what is is old and necessary to growth.

- A box is a box, but a bag can vary from different styles to forms. You can have a cloth bag, a paper bag, a thin or a thick bag. A pocket bag, grocery bag and or a chip bag. A bag is still a bag.
- A bag has good slide-ability. When you chase it, it floats across the room with ease. Go with the flow and slide gently into those hard to reach places in your life.
- At times, just our head is the only thing that fits in the bag. This is unfortunate, but you can still find a tad bit of Zen if you listen. Usually, you will find it outside the bag laughing at you. Laugh with the humans and at yourself; Life is funny.

- You don’t live in a bubble, but you could get stuck in a bag. Life is better and easier with friends to help along the way.
- Just because you are in a bag, doesn’t mean you are going on a trip. Be happy where you are.
- You want attention, get in a bag. Cats are cute magnets when in a bag. Right?
