Truth exists; only lies are invented.
Finding the truth in any situation is tricky.
We do our best to figure out all the sides of the story and we dig deep to get to the bottom of the answer. We are on a mission, right?
A truth seeking missile…or mission.
To find the truth, the cat can give good insight.
We start looking around in all directions because we know the truth has a funny way of getting stuck under the bed, or on the back of the paw. Sometimes we swallow the truth, and in doing so it gets stuck like a fur ball…waiting to come back up again. Waiting to be explained.
So where do we look for the truth?
- We look in our water bowl, but the truth may not be a good reflection of the situation.
- We can look into the eyes of another cat, but he may be hiding his own truth or plotting for the truth of another.
- We can look in the litter box, but we may find more truth than we really want and it may not be pretty!
- We can look at the truth from inside the box, but we may miss some “out of box” perspectives.
Finding the truth can frustrate the cat because it is like laser pointer. The light is bright and clear and shows us what is true, but the answer is out of reach. We get mad at it, paw-pop at it, and even pounce upon it shredding all our dignity trying to beat the truth out of it.
No matter what, we still can’t get a firm paw on that laser of truth.
Why…..
Because the truth of the matter is that the truth is never really found; it is an illusion of circumstances, individual ideas and it is bound up like a ball of cat string between different views. My truth is not your true and vice versa.
Time changes the truth. It adds layers of new situations to it. Just as you look in your rear-view mirror, things seem closer then they appear, yet distance stretches the truth.
Truth changes as quickly as a feather on a pole.
So as a cat looking for the truth, we end up batting around answers that are not there.
Realize that truth is like a circle
We spin around and around chasing the tail of truth.
We spin to the left and right for the answers but still we get nothing but dizziness.
Once we stop for a moment and take a deep breath, the realizations is that the real truth is always found in the middle of the situation; hiding in plain sight between the lines of what we “think” is true.
We can then find out why this truth matters.
What is really means to us. Are we chasing the tail of truth because we like the drama or does it really have an effect on our life?
It is our own truth or someone else’s that we can’t control? Does this truth need an explanation or forgiveness?
We need to look with patience, openness and honesty to find the only truth that matters….our own.
Once we find it, can we now move on.
We will find clarity when we can find out why we need this truth in the first place.
KT
At that point we may realize the truth doesn’t matter.
Keep in mind that what is really “true” is not occurring in our mind, in another person’s mind or in the past. What is true is happening right now; in the present moment.
That is the “true” place where the real truth lies…
