Keep the litter in your own box!
By Miss Mattie
We have a few litter boxes here and each one of us uses them all.
Well, except for Bailey as he seems to think he is the “king” of one of them.
A messy king.
I believe that keeping the litter in your box is like drawing within the lines. It’s proper cat etiquette.
Honesty, I have never seen Mr. Bailey use the box. We are not sure he does being a zen cat and all, but he must because we see the aftermath.
It’s not pretty.
Bailey loves to bunny kick and push all the litter out of his litter box. He digs and digs, so much so that I think he has a few cat friends in china.
I have cat friends, but I don’t attempt to visit them through the center of the litter box. That would certainly mess up my furr!
Mr. Bailey seems to want to be free of liter, but he seems uncomfortable with his cat business. He tries to bury it, but then it gets unburied because the litter is now out of the box.
It is very unsettling to watch.
He may actually be an OCD cat because he is very unaccepting of this process.
I think his idea of getting rid of the litter is his way of proving it is not there. Some strange Zen thing. If he gets rid of all of it, it is hidden.
Well, not really but he thinks so.
His “box” then becomes clean and uncluttered; a perfect representation of a Zen Garden without any sand. However, now there is now a volcano size mound of litter outside of it.
He ignores the mess outside his own box; out of sight, out of cat mind I suppose.
So, now that he ignored it, I get to walk mindfully up the mountain of cat litter into an empty box.
What can I do in here besides sit and ponder how I am going to use this un-usable cat box. Huh?
His attempt at impermanence is making my reality suck.
He is very kind and considerate. Not.
Mr. Bailey’s wise zen wisdom…
Yes Miss Mattie, I do poop.
I know that life can be messy, but if you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. I guess I find Zen in mess and in un-mess. It is what is, so it’s all good.
I do realize that I need to be more aware of how my litter box etiquette is affecting you. But then again, you like your box bedazzled and I like mine simple and plain.
So, meet me on the other side of the litter box (volcano) hill and we will find a way to co-exist in this litter box of life.
Together..
